FAO in Cameroon
The FAO Representation in Cameroon was established on September 2, 1978 with the signing of the Headquarters Agreement. However, Cameroon has been a member since 1960. Since September 4, 2015, the office has been a Liaison and Partnership Office.
OUR PRIORITY
Guided by the Country Programming Framework (2022-2025), FAO works closely with government institutions, the private sector, civil society, academia and development partners to foster a sustainable and inclusive transformation of the Cameroonian agricultural sector.
Its main priorities are:
- Transforming agri-food systems for sustainable production and access to markets;
- Strengthening adaptation and resilience to climate change;
- Engaging and empowering youth in agricultural value chains;
- Promoting sustainable forest and landscape management; and
- Addressing gender and social inequalities in rural development.
