The primary objective of this partnership is to provide capacity development for youth in Eastern Africa (Kenya and Uganda) on fruit and vegetable value chain development. This includes training on food safety, food processing, and the value addition of products that would have otherwise gone to waste. This partnership will support regional, national and local financial institutions in boosting agricultural financing for sustainable agrifood systems investment, including financing to smallholder and family farmers and small and medium agrifood enterprises. The collaboration also envisages support to private investment for sustainable agrifood systems, including policy support and promotion of innovative financing approaches such as blended finance. Other potential engagement areas include the Food Coalition and the Hand-in-Hand Initiative.
