لجنة تنسيق الدستور الغذائي لأفريقيا - المنسق الإقليمي لأوغندا
تم إنشاء "لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في أفريقيا" من قبل هيئة الدستور الغذائي في عام 1972 بهدف "ممارسة التنسيق العام في إعداد المواصفات المتعلقة بمنطقة إفريقيا". وعقدت اللجنة اجتماعها الأول في منظمة الأغذية والزراعة في عام 1974 بحضور 19 دولة.
ومع بدء فترة عمل المنسق الإقليمي الجديد، عزز اتفاق منطقة التجارة الحرة القارية الأفريقية (AfCFTA)، والذي دخل حيز التنفيذ في أيار/ مايو 2020، من الحاجة إلى نظام يتسم بالكفاءة والفعالية لإدارة تدابير الصحة والصحة النباتية، ولا سيما بالنسبة سلامة الأغذية، عبر القارة في الوقت الذي تفتح فيه حدودها للتجارة.
ويقع مقر المنسق الإقليمي في المكتب الوطني للمواصفات في أوغندا، وهو هيئة قانونية تابعة لوزارة التجارة والصناعة والتعاونيات تشرف على تعزيز واستخدام المواصفات كجزء من تفويضها.
وتعتزم أوغندا، كمنسق إقليمي، المشاركة بشكل وثيق مع البلدان من خلال المسوحات والندوات عبر الإنترنت وورش العمل لتحديد الاحتياجات والقضايا الناشئة، وخلق الوعي بقضايا سلامة الأغذية ذات الأولوية ومواصفات الدستور الغذائي. كما ستقوم دراسة تجريبية باستكشاف وضع سلامة الأغذية من ناحية أوسع في جميع أنحاء المنطقة. ومن خلال تعزيز المشاركة مع الهيئات الإقليمية مثل الاتحاد الأفر والمنظمة الأفريقية لتوحيد المواصفات وأمانة منطقة التجارة الحرة القارية الأفريقية، تهدف أوغندا أيضا إلى تعزيز أعمال المناصرة في المنطقة.

Another Milestone for Mauritius

World Food Safety Day/ Nigeria launches National Policy on Food Safety and Quality
Nigeria's National Policy on Food Safety and Quality and its Implementation Plan 2023 (NPFSQIP) was officially launched by the federal government of Nigeria on 7 June 2024 during the World Food Safety Day commemoration activity in Abuja. World Food Safety Day/ Zimbabwean food safety expert spreads awareness, inspires action

World Food Safety Day/ Eritrea debates ways to improve national food control systems
Eritrea has celebrated World Food Safety Day for the second consecutive year, this year. World Food Safety Day/ Africa region event
