CCGP34 / General Principles committee updates procedures and welcomes new chair

The 34th session of the Codex Committee on General Principles (CCGP) has concluded in Lille, France, from June 2-6, 2025 with key discussions revolving around updating the Codex Procedural Manual. The committee agreed to forward several proposed changes to the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) for adoption, which reflected ongoing efforts to enhance clarity and efficiency in the fundamental text. World Food Safety Day / Peru authorities hold two-day event

Peru’s national food safety authorities – General Directorate of Environmental Health and Food Safety (DIGESA), National Fisheries Health Organization (SANIPES) and National Service of Agrarian Health (SENASA) – jointly organized a two-day to celebrate World Food Safety Day. World Food Safety Day / 700 children participate in Food Safety Week in Portuguese municipality

Schools across the Municipality of Alcobaça, Portugal, participated in Food Safety Week from 26 to 30 May, in anticipation of World Food Safety Day on 7 June. This year's edition, themed “Science in Action”, involved 700 children from the municipality.
