Project phase I: e-nugget series starting next week!

In the framework of the "Building Forward Better Initiative - Strengthening natural resources management capacities to revitalize agriculture in fragile contexts", the Land and Water Division of FAO is launching a series of e-learning nugget courses open to selected professionals from Libya, Mali and Niger.

The series will consist in 13 e-nugget courses (1 to 2 hours online training sessions) organized on the following thematic areas:

1. Water Productivity;
2. Land Resources Planning;
3. Water Use Efficiency;
4. Renewable Energy for Irrigation;
5. Hydro-Economic Modelling;
6. Integrated Drought Management;
7. Water Harvesting and Agroforestry;
8. Irrigation Asset Management;
9. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.

The courses will be organized by the Land and Water Division in collaboration with key knowledge and training partners with long-standing capacity-building experience in relevant domains, including national, regional and international research institutes, academic centers and universities partners in the respective domains.

The first course on Sustainable Agricultural Water Management and Enhanced Crop Water Productivity will take place on 26th May 2020. The course will present the evolution of the standard Crop Water Productivity approach and will introduce the most recent application developed through field applications.

The course will be addressed by Mr Eduardo Mansur, CBL Director, FAO, and delivered by Prof. Elias Fereres and Dr. Margarita Garcia-Vila from the University of Cordoba, Spain.
