Despite significant progress, millions of people in Mesoamerica, and in other regions, continue to experience food insecurity. Given this situation, it is essential to strengthen the actions of public actors responsible for providing assistance to the most vulnerable populations and for promoting the transition toward more resilient agri-food systems. This action must be coordinated, effective, and adapted to the specific circumstances and needs of the population.
Mesoamerica Hunger Free program proposes good practices and innovative development solutions that emerge from the implementation of field interventions carried out in close collaboration with public institutions and family farmers in the most disadvantaged areas of the region. The analysis and capitalization of these interventions make it possible to generate practical and useful knowledge for the formulation, strengthening, and implementation of regulatory instruments, public policies, and governance mechanisms that contribute in the fight against hunger.
