The Ministry of Water Resources in Tripoli – Libya with the support of Food and Agriculture Organization's (FAO) office for Libya, organized a national workshop training on gender equality and women’s empowerment. This course targets national and local female stakeholders working in the fields of water, agriculture, GIS, Remote sensing, and meteorology. Between others, this training aims to support gender balance and provide through this session an opportunity for these selected women to fully utilize the WaPOR capabilities.

From 29th May to 31st June, a mission was conducted in Algeria by the Advisory Committee and FAO to facilitate the implementation of the WaPOR 2 project tools in the irrigated area of the Mitidja plain. The mission included in-depth discussions at the National Institute of Agricultural Research of Algeria (INRAA) and a field visit to study irrigation practices.
