Food security and agriculture: accelerating adaptation (SAGA 2)

SAGA 2 in Côte d'Ivoire

Côte d'Ivoire, one of Africa’s most dynamic economies, relies heavily on agriculture, a sector increasingly threatened by climate change. By joining the SAGA 2 project as a new partner, the country becomes part of a multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary partnership focused on strengthening the resilience of its agricultural sector to these challenges.

SAGA 2 supports the implementation of the priorities outlined in Côte d’Ivoire’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) 2023–2030 and the adaptation component of its  2022 revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for the agricultural sector. The project is implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of State for Agriculture, Rural Development and Food Production (MEMINADERPV), the Ministry of Environment, Sustainable Development and Ecological Transition (MINEDDTE), as well as academic and research institutions, civil society organizations and rural communities, in particular rural women and youth.
