2013

Zero Hunger was launched by President Lula in 2003 to help improve the situation by introducing a new development model centred on hunger eradication and social inclusion, linking macro-economic, social and productive policies. He sought to make this a truly national effort by engaging the widest possible participation of Brazilians.

2009

The fishing fleet of Aceh Province in Indonesia has been subject to much scrutiny over the last five years. In response to the impact of the tsunami in 2004, considerable national and international efforts have been directed at restoring the fishing fleet to pre-tsunami levels through a variety of fishing vessel building schemes.

2016

The four-day workshop was convened by FAO and consisted of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities supported by aquaponics experts from the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and Ministry of Agriculture and was supported by FAO technical officers and aquaponics consultants.

Potensinya terbuka, baik pasar bebas maupun industri. Kebutuhan cabai perkapita (2013) adalah 5 Kg/ tahun. Dengan jumlah penduduk 230 juta jiwa, maka kebutuhan cabai melebihi angka 1 Milyar Kg/ tahun. Harga cabai di pasar bebas relatif baik dibanding dengan sayuran lainnya.

The NMTPF is drafted in the form of a comprehensive Agriculture Development Framework by all parties including international organizations and resources partners. NMTPF is also a living document that can be reviewed and/or revised as necessary during the period of 2010-2014.

FAO Indonesia's contribution has been mainly in the form of technical cooperation for policy advocacy and emergency assistance with the involvement of our regional office and Headquarters. This booklet covers some of our activities within the changing environment and we hope it will be a useful reference on FAO Indonesia.

The new approaches have brought triple-win benefits to farming families, including increased yields, incomes, and levels of nutrition. The innovative techniques could be highly beneficial for the Government’s food self-sufficiency programme (UPSUS), while also improving livelihoods.

The document sets out four government priority areas to guide FAO’s work in partnership with the Government of Indonesia over the five-year period 2016-2020.

In Indonesia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs on behalf of the Government of Indonesia, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the FAO Representation in Indonesia just one year later with the Director General of FAO in October 1978.
