Mr. Alexandre Anh Tài Huynh
Since February 20, 2025, Alexandre Anh Tài Huynh has been FAO's new Representative in Morocco. With an impressive career spanning more than 30 years in the service of development, resilience and food security, he embodies a rare expertise at the intersection of international law, management and humanitarian action. A graduate in international law (University of Aix-Marseille) and organizational management (University of Versailles-St Quentin), Mr Huynh has held positions of increasing responsibility within the FAO since 2005, from East Africa to Southeast Asia, via the Indian Ocean and the Sahel. His expertise in the development and management of complex programs is an essential asset for FAO's mission in Morocco.
Mr. Abdelhak Laiti
Assistant-FAO Representative - in charge of Program
For over 31 years, Mr. Laiti has put his expertise and commitment at the service of sustainable and responsible agriculture. A Senior Rural Engineering Engineer, he has accompanied numerous agricultural projects carried out in Morocco by the FAO and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Over and above his technical skills, he is appreciated for his ability to listen, his technical skills and above all for the human quality he brings to each of his missions and projects. Today, as Deputy Representative in charge of the FAO Program in Morocco, he remains deeply attached to the concrete impact of each action in the field. Respected for his availability, admired for his modesty, he is an invaluable mentor, a silent but essential pillar in every project he touches.
Ms. Nadia Touil
Assistant-FAO Representative - in charge of Administration
For over 27 years, Nadia Touil has embodied expertise and commitment at FAO, where she holds the position of Deputy Representative, in charge of Administration. With a Master's degree in auditing, control and accounting, complemented by diplomas in economics and management, she began her career at the Ministry of Agriculture before joining FAO in 1998. Rigorous and determined, she combines technical mastery with human leadership, sharing her experience with her teams and driving a dynamic of continuous improvement.

Ms. Fouzia Chkar
Office Assistant
Ms Fouzia Chkar has been Office Assistant at FAO Morocco since 2014. With a degree in French language from the Université Mohammed Ier d'Oujda, she has a rich and diversified professional experience. For over 13 years, she has collaborated with several renowned international organizations. She has worked with the Peace Corps, UNDP (United Nations Volunteers program), UNOPS on an arboriculture project, and UN Women. Her expertise covers administrative management, project logistics and field operations support. Her keen sense of organization, rigor and commitment make her a major asset in supporting operations and programs.
Ms. Habiba Belhaj
Office Assistant - Program
Ms. Belhaj is a seasoned accountant with over 35 years' experience in the public sector, and in-depth expertise in financial management, budget monitoring and subsidy processing. Since 1989, she has worked in several departments of the Ministry of Agriculture, where her rigor and in-depth knowledge of administrative mechanisms have enabled her to manage strategic dossiers, notably the implementation of subsidies from the Fonds de Développement Agricole. Now an office assistant at the FAO, she remains a valuable collaborator, recognized for her sense of duty and commitment to public service.

Mr. Merouane Naghmouchi
Procurement Assistant
Since 2011, Mr. Merouane Naghmouchi has contributed his technical expertise and commitment to FAO's activities in Morocco with rigor and versatility. A graduate engineer from the École Marocaine des Sciences de l'Ingénieur and holder of a master's degree in computer science from the École Nationale de l'Industrie et des Mines in Rabat, he holds key positions in information systems and procurement management. Appreciated for his discretion, efficiency and humor, he actively contributes to the smooth running of the organization.
Ms. Sarah Amimi
Administrative Assistant
Since 2018, Sarah Amimi has held the position of Administrative Assistant at FAO, where her professionalism and responsiveness make her a pillar of the team. With a Master's degree in Pedagogy of Cultural Mediation (Mohammed V University, Rabat), she combines a wealth of experience between the private sector and international organizations, notably at UNESCO. Elected “Mediation Facilitator for Respect at Work” and Focal Point for Disability Inclusion at the United Nations in Morocco, she embodies the human commitment and values of the United Nations.
Mr. Faouzi Hicham
Administrative Support Agent and office vehicle driver
Mr. Faouzi Hicham is a multi-skilled professional with a degree in computer engineering. With a passion for technology and solid practical experience, he combines technical skills with operational rigor. He joined the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as part of the OASIL project in Errachidia, where he was responsible for both driving project vehicles and providing technical IT support for the office. Since 2025, he has held the position of Administrative Support Officer at the FAO in Rabat, where he applies his logistical expertise, driving skills and administrative know-how to the smooth running of operations.

Administrative Assistant
Mr. Ihab Akdim joined the FAO Representation in Morocco as Administrative Assistant in the Administration, Operations and Purchasing Unit. He holds a Master's degree in Accounting, Control and Auditing (CCA), and has developed in-depth expertise in financial auditing within auditing firms. Driven by a strong intellectual curiosity and a taste for challenge, Mr. Akdim now contributes to FAO's activities, with the ambition of supporting sustainable development projects and the achievement of United Nations objectives.

Mr. Yacine Allaoui
Consultant - Development Engineer
Since 2019, Yacine Allaoui has been contributing to FAO's agricultural and rural development projects, mobilizing his expertise to strengthen community resilience and promote sustainable natural resource management. A graduate in Water and Environment Engineering (ENGEES Strasbourg) and Rural Engineering (IAV Hassan II), he gained solid experience with the Agence du Bassin Hydraulique Souss-Massa-Draa and Amendis Tanger. His career path bears witness to an unwavering commitment to sustainable regional development.
Ms. Yasmina Tazi
Program Assistant
Since 2020, Yasmina Tazi has put her expertise at the service of the FAO as Program Assistant and Youth Focal Point. A graduate in management, marketing and international trade (ESC Rennes, ESIC Madrid, UIR Rabat), she combines versatility, international openness and a commitment to sustainable development. Driven by rigor and interpersonal skills, she works passionately to strengthen the participation of young people in the dynamics of food security. Her career path embodies a new generation of committed visionary talents.
Mr. Hicham El M'hamdi El Alaoui
Consultant - Formulation and Monitoring - evaluation officer
Hicham El M'hamdi El Alaoui, an agro-economic engineer trained at IAV Hassan II, has been a formulation, planning and monitoring-evaluation specialist at FAO Morocco since July 2021. With over ten years' experience with projects funded by organizations such as ICARDA, the World Bank, GEF, AF, GCF and IFAD, he designs monitoring-evaluation systems, optimizes program impact through results-based management and aligns initiatives with national, regional priorities and the SDGs. Combining analytical rigor and pragmatism, he contributes to the transformation of agri-food systems in Morocco.
Mr.Hassan Keddal
Consultant - Water Program Manager
Hassan Keddal, an engineer in rural works and rural engineering, has been working for over 20 years in the field of rural development and sustainable water management. After 13 years coordinating a national program to modernize large-scale irrigation in Morocco, his expertise led him to collaborate with the FAO in Morocco and Djibouti on strategic agricultural projects. Working alongside NGOs and consultancies, he has contributed to the creation of innovative tools for water management. Today, he continues his commitment as a national water specialist.
Ms. Lina Chiadmi
Fisheries and aquaculture consultant
Lina Chiadmi, an agronomy engineer specializing in fisheries and aquaculture, and holder of an MBA in Project Management, supports the FAO as a consultant. Her scientific expertise and commitment in the field contribute to the development of sustainable and innovative aquaculture in Morocco. Through structuring projects, she works to reconcile aquaculture production and ecosystem preservation, developing integrated models for marine and inland fisheries.
Ms. Yousra Tanjaoui
Animal health and production consultant
A veterinary doctor by training, Yousra Tanjaoui works with the FAO as a consultant on animal health and production projects, integrating the One Health approach. With a multidisciplinary background, she has worked in research on food safety, rural animal health and the veterinary pharmaceutical sector. Her areas of intervention include biosecurity, the fight against antimicrobial resistance and the reduction of methane emissions in livestock farming.
Ms. Meryem Salmi
Consultant - Communications Manager
Ms. Meryem Salmi is a specialist in communications and journalism with a degree from the Université Nice Sophia Antipolis (Masters in Multimedia Creation Engineering and Information and Communications Sciences). With a wide range of experience, she has worked as a press attaché for the Moroccan Minister of Youth and Sports, as an editor for the daily newspaper Al Bayane, and as a digital and event communications manager for several organizations. Her career has enabled her to develop multidisciplinary expertise in institutional communications, project management, media relations and digital communications, which she applies to projects with a strong strategic and social impact. Currently at FAO, she also acts as Gender Focal Point, contributing to the integration of gender equality into the organization's activities.
Ms. Aziza Irhza
Project Support and Monitoring Consultant
Aziza Irhza is a specialist in agroecology, with a Master's degree in Horticultural and Landscape Engineering and a PhD in Agroecology. As an FAO consultant, she contributes her expertise to the formulation and monitoring of projects focusing on the introduction and evaluation of agroecological practices in Moroccan ecosystems, in response to the challenges of climate change. Committed to sustainable and inclusive agriculture, it supports the agroecological transition of farmers and contributes to the development of resilient production models. Its ability to integrate scientific knowledge, local know-how and social innovation makes it a key player in the transformation of food systems.

Mr. Youssef Benmbarek
Driver and fleet manager
Mr. Youssef Benmbarek has been a Driver with the FAO Representation in Morocco since 2014. He holds a DEUG in literature, and studied Arabic literature and linguistics at university after obtaining his baccalauréat in 1986. Before joining FAO, he worked for the African Development Bank (ADB) between 2013 and 2014. Appreciated for his rigor, discretion and humility, Mr. Benmbarek puts his commitment and professionalism to work every day to ensure the smooth running of the Organization's logistics activities.
