FAO in Morocco
Since its independence in 1956, Morocco has made agriculture and fishing much more than economic sectors: it has made them the beating heart of its development, drawing from its fertile lands, rich and fish-filled waters, and its dual access to the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. This visionary choice, supported from the outset by a strong alliance with the FAO, has enabled the implementation of more than 265 national and regional projects, driven by ambitious strategies such as the Green Morocco Plan, Halieutis, and the National Sustainable Development Strategy 2030.
This bold ambition far exceeds its borders as Morocco generously shares its expertise with Africa through South-South Cooperation, thus reflecting deep cooperation. And it's not just technical cooperation; it's a human story of resilience and transformation. It is the story of a country that, in midst of of climatic and environmental challenges, chooses action, transmission, and the hope of a future without hunger, for all.
