FAO Archives
The FAO Archives team provides reference service to FAO staff members and external researchers of members countries upon request and based on their research priorities.
The Archives consists of approximately 3,800 linear meters of:
Historical archives: 1,600 l/m (20% scanned)
Inactive paper records: 1,900 l/m
Confidential personnel files: 140 l/m
Financial, Personnel records + Contribution files, Conference and Council records: 25,000 Microfilms
Audio-visual material.
covering the Organization's correspondence from 1945-2000.
Requests for access to the Archives should be sent to [email protected].
Once the request is received, the team will evaluate it and request additional information if needed
and propose a period for the visit to take place. Please note that typically access to the FAO Archives is for the duration of one week.
The FAO Archives are available for on-site consultation only.
FAO Archives materials should be acknowledged in any research output.
Special restrictions apply to records of a confidential nature.
