This module assesses the ability of households to market their production, taking into account physical access to markets, the organization to obtain advantageous sales conditions, and the diversity of marketing channels used.
Contribution to resilience
Well-organized farmers connected to diverse marketing channels are more resilient because they benefit from greater bargaining power, share resources, and spread risks. Regular access to diverse outlets helps secure incomes, adapt production to economic opportunities, and cope more calmly with market fluctuations or local crises. Good integration into marketing channels thus strengthens the economic stability of farming households and supports the sustainability of their production systems. Moreover, certification can open access to higher-value markets and encourage sustainable practices.
