Self-evaluation and Holistic Assessment of Climate Resilience of Farmers and Pastoralist (SHARP+)

Agricultural production activities

This module assesses the diversity of agricultural activities as well as the level of production and marketing.

Contribution to resilience

Diversifying agricultural activities strengthens household resilience by increasing their ability to withstand economic and climate disruptions. This allows for the diversification of income sources, and in the event of a poor season or low yields in one activity—for example, due to extreme weather events—income from other activities can offset losses. This allows households to better spread risks, reduce vulnerability to shocks, and ensure production despite market fluctuations or extreme weather conditions.
