Self-evaluation and Holistic Assessment of Climate Resilience of Farmers and Pastoralist (SHARP+)

Nutrition

This module examines dietary practices, sources of supply and access to adequate nutrition for all household members. It integrates the FAO's HDDS (Household Dietary Diversity Score) and FIES (Food Insecurity Experience Scale) indicators, which respectively assess household dietary diversity and the level of food insecurity experienced by the household.

Contribution to resilience

Adequate access to food and a diversified, balanced diet are vital to people's health and energy. It also strengthens the ability of household members to work, learn and respond to shocks. It is therefore a fundamental objective and a central pillar of FAO's food security mandate.
