Organized by the United Nations Committee of Experts on Food Security, Agriculture and Rural Statistics (UN-CEAG) on the sidelines of the 55th Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission, the event took stock of the latest developments and progress in implementing the UN-CEAG's programme of work (2020-2023) and discussed additional topics of interest in the area of food security and agricultural statistics.
The session was open to UN-CEAG member and non-member organizations and consisted of an interactive discussion to:
- discuss the most recent achievements and outputs of the UN-CEAG in the implementation of its work programme (2020-23);
- present in more details the Guidelines on Processing Food Consumption Data from Household Consumption and Expenditure Surveys submitted for endorsement to the Statistical Commission;
- discuss the UN-CEAG proposed programme of work for 2024-27;
- discuss additional topics of interest in food security, agriculture and rural statistics relevant to the work of the UN-CEAG that could be included in its programme of work 2024-27.
