Accelerating SDG progress through green agrifood SME growth

The SDG Agrifood Accelerator Programme concludes with an insightful webinar spotlighting the lessons learned and path forward for advancing the SDGs through sustainable agrifood SMEs.

This innovative initiative, led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and technically supported by SEED, introduced a new approach to drive the transformation of agrifood systems. The Programme engaged select SMEs from 8 developing countries, each pioneering solutions to local challenges.  It provided tailored coaching, small grants and developed of a toolkit of resources to help these agrifood SMEs scale up and accelerate action towards the SDGs, in line with their national food system transformation pathways. It focused on enhancing their resilience, supporting safe and nutritious food production, and boosting inclusive business practices, to ultimately increase environmental protections, promote women’s empowerment and improve the lives of marginalized members of local communities. 

This closing webinar will highlight key insights from the Programme and practical strategies to support green agrifood SMEs. It will feature inspiring stories from participating enterprises, showcasing how they are successfully growing both their business and their positive SDG impact.
