African Ministers and other senior officials are meeting at the African Union in Addis Ababa in the framework of the High Level Meeting of African and international leaders to end hunger in the continent. The Ministers were meeting ahead of the meeting of African Union Heads of State and Government under the theme “New, unified approaches to end hunger in Africa”.

The decision to end hunger needs to be taken by society as a whole, not by a single organization or a single government, FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva told non-state actors at a meeting in Addis Ababa that kicked off the discussions on the need for an unified approach and strengthened partnerships to guarantee food security in Africa.
