Moving Results into Policy and Practice
FAO, the Ford Foundation and IFAD have teamed up to co-sponsor an International Conference on Rural Finance Research, that takes place at the FAO Headquarters from 19 to 21 march 2007. The ultimate aim of this conference is a wider use of research results in rural finance policy and decision making processes.
Richard Roberts, former Chief of the Marketing and Rural Finance Service in FAO, Rome, is currently Agricultural Finance Advisor in the GTZ-Sida Financial Systems Development Programme, hosted by the Bank of Uganda, Kampala. He is convinced that Research can help policy change and implementation in a better way. The case of Uganda
