The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the People’s Republic of China are leading the South-South Cooperation project: Digital Transformation and Innovation in Agriculture to improve the rural livelihoods through digitalization in 12 countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

Geneva – On the occasion of his trip to Geneva for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and the Conference on AI for Good, FAO Director-General QU Dongyu signed Memorandum of Understandings with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

The South-South Cooperation projects matches the technologies and experience of visiting countries with the needs and requests of host countries, transferring knowledge and expertise through partnership. China is passing on to Cabo Verde what it has learned in its own rural landscapes, remarkably similar to that of this small island’s interior.
