Africa Solidarity Trust Fund
Rome time
The Africa Solidarity Trust Fund is an innovative instrument for receiving and managing pooled unearmarked funds to support critical national and regional Africa-to-Africa development initiatives. It was established in 2012 with a total contribution of USD 40 million by the governments of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Angola. The aim of this side event is to raise awareness on the ASTF as a successful unearmarked pooled funding mechanism, based on its five years of implementation, and sensitize African and other member countries for its recapitalization and expansion.
