EU Walk for Climate Change

UNDP Regional (Arab States) Goodwill Ambassador, Lebanese endurance athlete Michael Haddad, is preparing to undertake his most arduous challenge yet in 2025 — 100 kilometres walk across the Arctic expanse of Svalbard, Norway. (* Klima = Climate in Norwegian).
In the build-up to the Artic Walk, the Goodwill Ambassador will perform a symbolic advocacy walk in the capital of Europe, Brussels — seat of several key European Union (EU) institutions, including the European Commission, the European Council, and the European Economic and Social Committee.
Following the Walk, UNDP, in collaboration with FAO, ICARDA, ESCWA will convene a high-level closed doors roundtable discussion on transforming agrifood systems to achieve food security, in the context of the current climate emergency.
