Climate change poses some of the most serious risks to agricultural production, food security, and the state of the world’s forests, fish stocks and water supply. Smallholder producers and the poor in the developing world are particularly vulnerable to the effects of more frequent and intense weather and climate events, thus complicating global efforts to promote long-term development through food security and poverty reduction.
