لجنة التنسيق للدستور الغذائي في أمريكا اللاتينية والبحر الكاريبي - المنسق الإقليمي الاكوادور
في عام 1976، عقدت لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في أمريكا اللاتينية، التي أسستها الدورة العاشرة لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في عام 1974، اجتماعها الأول في روما بحضور ثمانية بلدان من المنطقة. وقد تم تقديم مُقترح في دورتها الثالثة لتغيير اسم اللجنة إلى شكلها الحالي (لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في أمريكا اللاتينية ومنطقة البحر الكاريبي) لأن هذا المسمى يعكس بشكل أفضل عضوية المنطقة. وعليه، وافقت اللجنة التنفيذية في جلستها الحادية والثلاثين التي عُقدت عام 1984 على هذا التغيير وذلك بالنيابة عن هيئة الدستور الغذائي.
وتعتبر منطقة أمريكا اللاتينية والبحر الكاريبي جهة فاعلة هامة في إنتاج وتجارة الأغذية على المستوى العالمي. وتنتج المنطقة ما يكفي من الغذاء لإمداد نفسها والتصدير، حيث تسمح موارد المياه والأرض بالمزيد من الإنتاج.
وتتمتع المنطقة بثروة طبيعية هائلة، وصناعة زراعية مزدهرة، وقطاع زراعي عائلي يخدم سكانها. ويجب مواصلة تعزيز وتقوية سلامة الأغذية على مستوى جميع المناطق لضمان صحة المستهلكين والتجارة العادلة والمنصفة.
ويقع مقر المنسق، الإكوادور، في AGROCALIDAD وهي وكالة ملحقة بوزارة الزراعة والثروة الحيوانية. وتهدف إلى خلق تآزر بين دول المنطقة، لتقديم الدعم المتبادل من أجل التغلب على المشاكل الإقليمية ودراسة الحلول للتحديات المشتركة.
ويهدف المنسق كذلك إلى تعزيز التعاون بين البلدان وتعزيز مشاركة البلدان النامية في هيئة الدستور الغذائي ولجانها الفرعية.

World Food Safety Day/ Contamination with “foreign materials” the focus of events for Brazilian company
On 7 June 2024, the company Via Rovigo Indústria, Comércio e Dissistência de Produtos Alimentícios S.A., located in the city of Sertãozinho, state of São Paulo, celebrated World Day of Food Safety.
Activities included lectures on Foreign Materials, an information mural and a special gift. The celebration ended with snacks, as every party should. The actions were carried out under the slogan of the World Food Safety Day Campaign: "The Food Safety is Everyone’s Business."

World Food Safety Day/ Mexico food company raises staff awareness on preparing for the unexpected
Grupo Jumex in Mexico celebrated World Safety Day by displaying a “Safety Expo”, where, based on the information displayed on the WHO website, the Group's Plants expose safety issues and promote the culture of the importance of ensuring the safety of food products.

World Food Safety Day/ Panama university to hold on campus events
The Master’s Programme in Chemical Sciences with an Emphasis in Food Safety of the Faculty of Sciences of the Universidad Autonoma de Chiriquí, will celebrate World Food Safety Day on 7 June 2024, under the theme – “Prepare for the unexpected”. World Food Safety Day/ Event for health professionals in Natal, Brazil
The Nutrition Department at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), in partnership with the Rio Grande do Norte Health Surveillance Subcoordinator (SUVISA-RN) and support from the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses (SEBRAE), will hold an event in celebration of World Food Safety Day for health surveillance professionals, students and technical managers.
