World Food Safety Day / Celebrations planned for the African region
A regional webinar commemorating World Food Safety Day 2026 is jointly organized by FAO, WHO, the World Food Programme (WFP), the African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) and the FAO/WHO Coordinating Committee for Africa (CCAFRICA).
The webinar, themed “Building Africa’s Food Safety Future: From Evidence to Action,” is scheduled to take place virtually on 11 June 2026 and aims to promote awareness and dialogue on the burden of foodborne diseases and practical actions to strengthen food safety systems across Africa.

World Food Safety Day / Ras Al Khaimah Municipality honours winners of 3rd Food Safety Award

World Food Safety Day / Students raise awareness of food safety through interactive learning activities
To mark World Food Safety Day, whose theme this year was “From Burden to Solutions: Safe Food for All,” we held an academic and awareness-raising workshop with students from the Food and Beverage Hygiene and Safety course. The aim was to promote greater awareness of the importance of food safety throughout the entire food chain.

World Food Safety Day / Wide ranging events for employees at Mexican food company
To celebrate World Food Safety Day, Grupo Jumex dedicated a day to raising awareness about the importance of ensuring safe food production. World Food Safety Day / Viva fair brings food safety and sustainability to the community in Lisbon
On 7 June 2026, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lisbon hosted the “Viva Fair”, bringing together academia, the food sector and the community to celebrate food safety, sustainable nutrition, science and tradition.
