Mountain forests are vital for food security, livelihoods, biodiversity conservation and climate resilience, yet they face increasing pressures from climate change and environmental degradation. This event will bring together government representatives, international organizations, researchers, private sector actors, Indigenous Peoples, youth and mountain communities to showcase innovative solutions that support resilient and prosperous mountain regions.

Building on the momentum of the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions (2023–2027), the discussion will highlight successful approaches to sustainable mountain forest management, climate and development finance, and inclusive agrifood systems.

Participants will explore how investments in mountain ecosystems can generate multiple benefits for people and nature, while contributing to global climate and sustainable development goals. The event will also help inform preparations for the Bishkek+25 Global Mountain Summit in 2027.
