Tropical Forest Forever Facility: environmental eligibility and monitoring
Tuesday 29 September 2026 | 08.00–09.15 CEST | Sheikh Zayed Centre
The Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF) is an innovative global mechanism designed to provide long-term finance for tropical forest conservation and restoration. This side event will provide an update on progress towards the operationalization of the TFFF, with a particular focus on environmental eligibility and monitoring.
Bringing together TFFF co-chairs Brazil and Norway, alongside FAO, the World Bank, and representatives of tropical forest countries and Indigenous Peoples' organizations, the session will explore approaches to ensuring transparent, credible, and operational environmental eligibility and monitoring, supporting long-term financial incentives for standing tropical forests, while delivering benefits for climate, livelihoods and sustainable development.
