Engaging youth in the conversation on global forest governance

In preparation for the upcoming Committee on Forestry, the Youth Assembly will provide insights into the discussions at COFO 27 and showcase the work of young professionals on the thematic areas of the COFO 27 agenda. The Assembly will include an interactive discussion on how young minds can and are contributing to green solutions and make the link to the implementation of the Youth Call for Action of the XV World Forestry Congress. This event will also contribute to building a comprehensive, youth-driven outcome document that reflects the collective voice and innovative ideas of young people in the field of forestry.

Next steps for a Youth Roadmap

This Assembly will be the first of three sessions to build a Youth Roadmap on Forestry in 2024. This first session will produce a short summary of the innovative ways in which young foresters are contributing to the COFO agenda, with respect to the four key action areas of the World Forestry Congress Youth Call for Action. This will build the base for the another two dialogues at the World Food Forum Flagship in October and the Mediterranean Forest Week in November.

Organized by the 27th Session of the Committee on Forestry & 9th World Forest Week Youth Task Force, World Food Forum, International Forestry Students’ Association, Mediterranean Youth Task Force, and Young Professionals for Agricultural Development.
