Written Correspondence Procedure

Seven Agenda items will be addressed through a written correspondence procedure (WCP). Details of the procedure are set out in COFO/2026/INF/3 - Note on the working method of the Committee on Forestry.

Members are invited to submit written inputs by Friday, 11 September 2026, to [email protected].

All inputs received will be published and the Secretariat will provide written responses, where necessary, which will be made available ahead of the Committee’s discussion of the item in Plenary. Both the Members’ submissions and the responses from the Secretariat will be posted online when received (link forthcoming).

The following seven agenda items will be addressed through the written correspondence procedure (WCP):

Item 9.1. The FAO Forestry Roadmap – From Vision to Action 2024-2031 (COFO/2026/7.1);
Item 9.2. Investing in people to implement forest-based solution pathways: finance, capacity development and innovation (COFO/2026/7.2);
Item 9.3. Sustainable wildlife management and human-wildlife coexistence (COFO/2026/7.3);
Item 9.4. FAO’s work on forest degradation and the Global Forest Resources Assessment’s flexible voluntary updates (COFO/2026/7.4);
Item 9.5. Strengthening global forest collaboration: FAO’s role in the Collaborative Partnership on Forests, and progress in the implementation of the United Nations Strategic Plan for Forests 2017–2030 (COFO/2026/7.5);
Item 9.6. Dialogue with Statutory Bodies in Forestry (COFO/2026/7.6);
Item 11. Multi-year Programme of Work of the Committee on Forestry (COFO/2026/9).
