Scaling solutions for decoupling agricultural production from deforestation in Asia-Pacific: Regional multistakeholder dialogue
26/08/2025 - 27/08/2025
About the event
FAO is convening a regional multistakeholder dialogue on 26-28 August 2025 to prompt South-South and cross-commodity learning exchanges for governments, industry leaders, development partners and experts on strengthening synergies and reducing trade-offs between agriculture and forests. The objective of the event is to reflect on and collaborate towards joint solutions for decoupling agricultural production from deforestation.
The workshop is being organized with financial support from key programmes and projects, such as the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD Programme), the affiliated Aim4Commodities initiative, the Japan-funded Building Global Capacity on Halting Deforestation and Conversions from Agricultural Commodities (BiG-CHANCE) project, and the GEF8 Southeast Asia and the Pacific Forests Integrated Programme.
The workshop will offer opportunities to forge partnerships to address deforestation in the region, share information on data, priorities, progress and country-driven solutions on the subject matter, and raise awareness of available tools and initiatives to support countries in reducing the risk of deforestation in agricultural production.
