Guided by pledges linked to the Paris Agreement under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), FAO’s work focuses on ensuring countries are financially, technically and institutionally equipped to deliver their commitments.
FAO’s work in this domain focuses on three main thematic areas’ navigating climate finance, transforming agrifood systems and harnessing forests for climate mitigation. This document systematizes the preliminary progress of the Native Forest Women Producers Program (Programa Productoras de Bosques Nativos – PPBN), an initiative developed within the framework of Argentina’s REDD+ Results-Based Payments Project (GCP/ARG/029/GCF). The project is implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in partnership with the National Undersecretariat of Environment, with funding of USD 82 million from the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
