Initiatives
FAO extends its support to more than 40 countries, tailoring its assistance to suit unique local contexts and challenges. With dedicated country and regional teams and offices, FAO provides efficient and effective delivery of its services, enabling to directly engage with communities and stakeholders and to respond promptly to on-ground realities.
On the ground, at the regional level and at a global scale, collaboration among various stakeholders (government, communities, UN agencies, academia, and private sector) is key to halting deforestation, forest degradation and emissions.
These collaborations encompass initiatives like the UN-REDD Programme, Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI), Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF), Global Environment Facility (GEF), Green Climate Fund, and various other multilateral agencies and partnerships. Through these partnerships, we work collectively to build capacity, promote sustainable practices, and address climate-related issues on a global scale.
