International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026

12 Months · 12 Regions · 12 Women

Portraits of women transforming Moroccan agriculture

In 2026, the United Nations General Assembly celebrates the International Year of the Woman Farmer. To mark this milestone, FAO Morocco is launching a series of twelve portraits — one per month, one per region — dedicated to the women shaping the Kingdom's agri-food systems.

From the Atlas Mountains to the Atlantic plains, from argan to saffron, from poultry to beekeeping: these women cultivate, innovate, pass on knowledge, and transform their territories. They are not exceptions. They are the faces of a reality that this series aims to make visible.

Each month, discover the journey of a woman farmer or agri-entrepreneur in her region, through a story, images, and her own voice.
