The Environment and Development Association (JASIL)'s mission is to promote the sustainable management of natural resources and land use in select ecosystems of Mongolia, advocating for research, networking, and capacity development for economic development, land use (pasture land use) and environmental protection. They use equitable, participatory approaches with the local communities they work with. JASIL's study sites include high mountain ecosystems, forest and steppe ecosystems, and steppe and prairie ecosystems of Mongolia with average elevations of 1 500–3 100 metres.
