World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Romania

WWF Romania is part of the global WWF network, working to protect and restore nature for the benefit of people and wildlife. Active since 2006, the organization focuses on conserving forest, freshwater, grassland and mountain ecosystems, promoting sustainable development and supporting communities that depend on natural resources. WWF Romania works through science-based conservation, policy advocacy, innovation and partnerships with government, civil society, local communities and the private sector. Its programmes address biodiversity loss, climate change, responsible resource use and nature-positive economic models, while strengthening resilience and promoting inclusive, locally led approaches. By combining fieldwork, environmental governance and community engagement, WWF Romania contributes to the long-term protection of the Carpathians and other key landscapes, ensuring healthy ecosystems and sustainable livelihoods for future generations.
