Agriculture, a dominant and crucial sector in Asia, is of strategic importance to alleviating poverty and ensuring sustainable food security. Several Asian governments have adopted sustainable and green agricultural policies that can improve the quality of people’s lives and build a better society for future generations. The impacts of these policies already are being felt, bringing great hope and encouragement to people and cultures.

The Regional Conference on Green Agriculture was held from 29–31 May in Yerevan, Armenia, with more than 50 participants in person and many more online. The aim of the conference was to exchange experiences and facilitate discussions regarding the status of green agriculture and green policies, with a focus on leveraging innovation and technology to advance the green transformation in agrifood systems, both regionally and globally.

FAO and the Regional Centre for Forestry and Rural Development in North Macedonia hosted the annual international meeting of the Forest Invasive Species Network for Europe and Central Asia from 4 to 6 June 2024 in Skopje, North Macedonia.

Facilitated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the fifteenth international LANDNET workshop, starting today in Middelburg in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is bringing together about 100 experts from roughly 30 countries to share their experiences on land consolidation.
