FAO Library in MuNe
FAO Library preserves the documentary heritage of the Organization for the researchers of today and tomorrow. A rich heritage that goes as far back as the 15th century and is dedicated to all fields of study related to agriculture and nutrition.
To raise awareness of the historic and scientific importance and the artistic richness of this legacy, the library curates engaging exhibitions in the Library space of the FAO Food and Agriculture Museum and Network (MuNe), merging centuries of original documents and scholarship with interactive digital technologies to enrich the visitor experience. Please visit the MuNe website to book a visit.
The goal is to make the Library collections as accessible as possible to the general public by telling and illustrating the many histories behind the books in support of UNESCO's Memory of the World Program declaration:
"The world's documentary heritage belongs to all, should be fully preserved and protected for all and, with due recognition of cultural mores and practicalities, should be permanently accessible to all without hindrance."
(UNESCO, 1992)
