Workshop "Method for estimating carbon balance based on expected values (EX-ACT)"
10/02/2026 - 12/02/2026
Since 2024, PJSC “PhosAgro”, JSC “AgroGard” and the Soil Science Faculty at Lomonosov Moscow State University with technical support by FAO have been implementing the RECSOIL project aimed at developing and implementing climate-resilient practices in agriculture.
In April 2024, in the framework of the project, scientific and practical workshops series dedicated to the RECSOIL initiative in Russia has been launched. The first seminar was dedicated to project data requirements, spatial data and sampling.
From 10 to 12 February 2026 (during three days from 15:00 to 17:00 Moscow time), a second workshop of these series will take place on the theme of "Method for estimating carbon balance based on expected values (EX-ACT)"
The lecturers will be experts from the FAO Global Soil Partnership. The workshop will examine the main mechanisms of recarbonization of agricultural soils and present the carbon balance assessment methodology (Environmental eXternalities ACcounting Tool, EX-ACT) developed by FAO for assessing the impact of agricultural practices on organic carbon stocks in soils. Experts will examine in detail the requirements for the volume of data input necessary to use the model (EX-ACT).
We invite lecturers, students, graduates, postgraduates and interested experts in carbon-efficient agricultural practices to participate in this seminar.
Simultaneous interpretation in English/Russian will be provided. To take part virtually, please register here.
