This lecture examine how financial technologies (fintech) can promote the financial inclusion of marginalized smallholders, with a particular focus on rural youth and women. It will introduce key concepts and challenges related to fintech in rural contexts and present two case studies that illustrate the use of digital farmer registries as a tool to improve smallholders’ access to financial services.
