Through AIM4Forests, LTT works with Indigenous Peoples and other customary communities, including Afro-Descendent Peoples, Pygmy Peoples, pastoralists, fisherfolk, and smallholder farmers,to strengthen technical capacities in forest monitoring and mapping, supporting local initiatives to recognize, manage, protect and restore forest lands, biodiversity, and territories. The programme supports locally led forest monitoring and participatory mapping efforts to bolster land rights recognition, improved natural resource management, and access to climate finance. Through Indigenous Peoples-led communities of practice, AIM4Forests fosters bottom-up and peer-to-peer learning, helping Indigenous Peoples harness innovative technologies and develop pathways for increasing their participation in global efforts for biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation and adaptation. |
