The Land Tenure Journal (LTJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access flagship journal of the Rural Transformation and Gender Equality Division (ESP) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The Land Tenure Journal, launched in early 2010, is a successor to the Land Reform, Land Settlement and Cooperatives magazine, which was published between 1964 and 2009. The Land Tenure Journal is a medium for the dissemination of quality information and diversified views on land and natural resources tenure.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS | Land Tenure Journal on land and Indigenous Peoples
This special issue seeks to identify, analyze, and assess emerging strategies and shifts that contribute to the recognition and the protection of Indigenous Peoples’ land rights—whether through legal frameworks, governance arrangements, community-based initiatives, or socio-political process. In doing so, it aims to contribute to a new cycle of reflection and action in securing Indigenous Peoples’ land rights.

Focuses on the increasing incidence of land disputes driven by population growth, climate change, migration and conflict, and their implications for development, food security and peace. It reviews responses to improve land governance, including legal reforms and tenure formalization, while recognizing their limitations, and highlights more inclusive approaches.
