In the framework of REDD+ implementation and forest-based climate solutions, the UN-REDD Programme supports tenure security, land governance and equitable access to natural resources through policy advice, capacity development and application of the VGGT. Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening Indigenous Peoples’ and local communities’ rights and participation in forest governance as a foundation for sustainable forest management and climate mitigation. |
