FAO in Uruguay
The FAO Representation in Uruguay was established with the aim of maintaining direct and continuous dialogue with the Uruguayan State. Since its inception, its role has been to promote technical cooperation processes with the Government in areas considered strategic for improving food and agriculture.
To achieve this objective, FAO works in coordination with ministries and agencies of the national Government, as well as with other public and private entities involved in agriculture, livestock, fisheries, aquaculture, forest and natural resource management, rural development, food, health and food safety.
It also promotes coordination and partnerships with international cooperation actors and agencies of the United Nations system, in line with the priority areas defined in the Country Programming Framework.
