The Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was founded in 1968. The Institute employs 17 Doctors and 47 Candidates of sciences on a specialty "Soil Science" and "Agrochemistry".
It offers a wide range of services, including soil and agrochemical surveys of agricultural lands, assessment of soils and agricultural lands, determination of the causes and evaluation of soil degradation, fertility loss, and damage to agricultural production, as well as the study of agrochemical and other indicators of soil, plant, plant product, and water quality and safety. The Institute also conducts diagnostics of plant provision with macro- and microelements, accurately calculates doses of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers for the next year’s harvest, and develops projects for the creation of sustainable agro-ecological landscapes and reclamation of disturbed lands. Equipped with modern instruments for cartographic and soil-agrochemical work, the Institute also maintains an accredited testing laboratory.
