The Agricultural Engineering Research Institute (IAgric) was established through the merger of two institutions with a long history of research and significant scientific and technical achievements: the Agricultural Mechanization Research Institute (IIMA) and the Irrigation and Drainage Research Institute (IIRD). To promote the scientific and technological development of comprehensive agricultural engineering systems that enable the harmonious implementation of irrigation and drainage, mechanization, energy, post-harvest, environmental conservation, and rural construction technologies based on the sustainable use of natural resources, thus contributing to the country's food security.
