Caribbean Information System for the Agricultural Sciences. Guyana (CISAS)
Guyana
The Caribbean Information System for the Agricultural Sciences (CISAS), initially established to support agricultural development in the Caribbean, played a crucial role in making relevant agricultural materials and resources available to meet the current and potential needs of the region. By collecting and disseminating critical data and research, CISAS aimed to strengthen agriculture through improved access to information. However, as of now, the role of CISAS in Guyana and the wider Caribbean has been replaced by the University of the West Indies (UWI), which now takes on the responsibility of supporting agricultural research, knowledge dissemination, and development in the region.
