The National Institute of Research in Rural Engineering, Water and Forestry (Institut National de Recherches en Génie Rural, Eaux et Forêts, INRGREF) is a public research institution in Tunisia. It focuses on scientific research and development in the fields of rural engineering, water resources, and forest science. Established in the mid-1990s, INRGREF operates under the Institution of Agricultural Research and Higher Education (IRESA) and the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture. Its mission includes contributing to national research policies on water management, soil conservation, forestry, and rural development; conducting scientific and experimental research; training master’s and Ph.D. students; and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources in Tunisia. INRGREF also participates in national and international research projects, supports capacity building, and organizes workshops and seminars in its core areas of expertise.
