The National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA) is a Cuban scientific research institution located in San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque Province. It was established in 1970 as a science and technology unit of the Ministry of Higher Education to support agricultural research and postgraduate training, and to extend research results into productive practice and farmer training. Its mission is to generate and transfer updated scientific knowledge, comprehensive technologies, and new products in areas such as biotechnology, plant science, and sustainable systems, with the aim of improving the efficiency of national agri‑food production. It offers scientific and technical services and contributes to agricultural innovation and capacity building across Cuba.
