The Altai State Agricultural University (ASAU), founded in 1943 on the basis of the evacuated Pushkinskiy Agricultural Institute from Leningrad, is one of the oldest universities in the Altai Region. ASAU serves as both an educational and research center in agriculture. Its main research areas include soil evaluation and fertility management, development of efficient agricultural technologies, reclamation and use of land and water resources, energy-saving and market-adapted crop cultivation, adaptive potential of crops on diverse soils, optimization of tillage equipment, pedagogical innovations in agricultural education, and scientific support for land evaluation, land management, and agro-ecological monitoring.
