The Institute of Marine and Coastal Research (Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas y Costeras – INVEMAR) is a Colombian government research institute dedicated to the study, conservation, and sustainable management of marine and coastal ecosystems. INVEMAR conducts scientific research on biodiversity, oceanography, and coastal processes, provides technical and policy support to governmental and environmental organizations, and promotes knowledge dissemination, education, and sustainable development in Colombia’s marine and coastal regions.
